There are scores of opportunities for essay topics, though not all of them will be appropriate for every student. If you are an English teacher, the best time to choose your subject is in the spring. One thing I like to do is get kids who really want to visit Alaska to write a short summary of why they wish to visit Alaska.Most of the students will be inte rested in a trip there, and that will help me pick a topic that will engage their wishes. Another choice for a topic might be something that students have never heard of or seen before, such as how to build an igloo.
